Western Australia is comprised of nine regions; among these is South West Australia. The name of this certain region is due to its location, which is on the southwestern corner. Its total land area measures 23,970 square kilometers; while its population is 123,000. The climate of the region is typical to that of the Mediterranean, with its wet winter months and dry summer months. The total amount of rainfall is 900 millimeters each year. Most of this precipitation falls from May to September. The average highest temperature ranges from 16 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius.

The history of South West Australia is spun by its aboriginal inhabitants and by the other pioneering settlers. All towns of the region have various tales regarding their early beginnings. Their local museums provide information and insights on the history of each Australian community. On the other hand, the local folks also have their own stories to tell, especially when it comes to the famous citizen within their town.

The old pubs of the region have been turned into bars and restaurants. Several of the old buildings and homesteads within inland farming areas have been conserved; while there are some which have been turned into cozy accommodations. It is not only the buildings which have been saved; the aboriginal history of South West Australia has also been conserved. This is done by naming areas after famous people. There are also cultural centers which have been constructed, concentrating on the culture and life of the aborigines. These centers provide the local citizens and the visitors the chance to learn more about the early beginnings of the region. These cultural centers are: Kodja Place, which is found in Kojonup and Wardan Aboriginal Center, which is located in Yallingup.

The culture of South West Australia is diverse; while its local people are adept and highly skilled. A lot of citizens within the region are talented. From jewelry to sculptures, paintings, glassware, furniture, and other forms of art are displayed in galleries. Aside from gallery displays, there are also several festivals, events, and gatherings. This is one way for the government of the region to showcase its culture and tradition. There are public gardens, food and music festivals, and other types of events. These are held every year, with a lot of tourists flying in just to view it.

The landscapes and coastlines of the region are beautiful and breathtaking. South West Australia, like the rest of the other regions of the continent, is comprised of geographical wonders which are diverse and amazing. The beaches are unspoiled, the oceans are teeming with marine life, the forests are filled with towering trees and flora, and the countryside is lush with vegetation. Collie River is among the rivers of the region which are recognized as great fishing areas. The seas are visited each year by southern right whales, humpback whales, and bottlenose dolphins.

Whether you want to visit South West Australia in the winter or summer, you will surely enjoy your stay. There are various hotels and other types of accommodation within the region. Whether you opt for a bed and breakfast inn, a lodge, or a luxurious hotel, you will be offered with great service and comfortable rooms.
